Classification and application of polyester sewing thread

100% Nylon 210d/2-150 Nylon Fishing Twine : Top 4 Application And Benefits

Polyester is a type of fiber made by spinning polymers, mostly referring to fibers produced with ethylene terephthalate as raw material. Polyester fiber is a high-quality synthetic fiber, and the sewing thread made from it is strong and wear-resistant.

Polyester raw materials can withstand friction, dry cleaning, stone washing, bleaching and other detergents. They are flexible, compliant, full-color, and good color fastness, which ensures sewing and prevents wrinkles and skipped stitches.

Polyester sewing thread, also known as high-strength sewing thread, is a sewing thread made of polyurethane polyester staple fiber as polyester raw material. Polyester sewing thread has advantages such as high strength, good elasticity, wear resistance, low shrinkage, and good chemical stability.

Polyester sewing thread is strong and does not reduce strength when wet. It has a small shrinkage rate, and shrinks less than 1% after proper shaping, so the sewn stitches can remain flat and beautiful. The stitches and fabrics can maintain consistent expansion and contraction without shrinkage.

Classification and application of polyester sewing thread

Polyester sewing thread includes filament, staple fiber and polyester low-elastic thread.

  • Polyester filament sewing thread has strong coloring, acid resistance and UV resistance, and is suitable for sewing of various high-demand and high-quality products, and has a wide range of uses.
  • Polyester staple fiber is a fiber obtained by cutting polyester into a tow, that is, a short fiber generated by polymerizing PTA and ethylene glycol. Polyester staple fiber is mainly used for sewing various cotton, polyester-cotton, pure wool and its blended fabrics, and is currently a widely used sewing thread.
  • Polyester low-elastic thread is often used in knitted clothing, such as sportswear, underwear, and tights.

Conclusion

In general, there are many types of polyester sewing thread, and the appropriate type can be selected according to different needs and uses. Because polyester sewing thread has high strength, good wear resistance and low shrinkage, it can replace cotton sewing thread in many occasions and is widely used in the sewing of cotton fabrics, chemical fibers and blended fabrics.
