Nylon Twisted Sewing Thread: Twisting Process, Three Major Characteristics

Filament Thread

Nylon sewing thread is a synthetic fiber with reliable physical and chemical properties. It can be used to make various textiles, such as silk, fishing line, socks, swimwear, shirts, etc.

Nylon twisted sewing thread is a common yarn made by twisting technology in the textile industry. In the nylon production process, the twisting technology can easily twist the yarn together to form a thicker thread and enhance its strength and elasticity.

Principle And Process Of Nylon Twisted Yarn

Nylon twisted yarn is a yarn made by twisting two or more yarns at the same time. Even the original single yarn can become a twisted yarn. The purpose of twisting is to increase the strength and elasticity of the yarn and improve the resistance of the yarn to deformation forms such as stretching, twisting, and deformation.

The process of nylon twisted yarn is usually divided into two steps: the first step is forming twisting, that is, twisting multiple single yarns into one strand through a forming machine, and the second step is whole strand twisting, that is, twisting the already formed yarn into a strand again to shorten it and enhance its strength. In the process of forming twisting, it can be divided into two methods: unidirectional twisting and bidirectional twisting. Unidirectional twisting refers to twisting in the same direction on the forming machine; bidirectional twisting is twisting in opposite directions.

Three Characteristics Of Nylon Twisted Sewing Thread

Nylon twisted sewing thread has higher strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance;
Nylon twisted sewing thread has better elasticity, is more resistant to pulling and twisting;
Nylon twisted sewing thread has less impurities and more stable color.

Conclusion

Due to its reliable physical and chemical properties, nylon twisted sewing thread  is widely used in a variety of textiles, among which fishing line, webbing, bras, swimwear, socks, driving belts and other fields are widely used.
